Spanish slug is derived from Iberian Peninsula. To the 1990’s it reached Scandinavia, Austria. The slug can be brown, light brown, red, orange, gray and black with dark line on the sides.

Polyphagous and feeds on a range of crop species as well as dumped plant material and carcasses from May to the begining of freeze. In Sweden the species is reported from strawberry fields and grain storage facilities. Furthermore, there are great impediments to human use of gardens as judged by the number of times this species make headlines in media often under the alias “killer slug”.
