Az ősleletek alapján a rajzoló rekonstruálta a Beipiaosaurus nevű tollas dinoszauruszt, a madarak egyik elődjét. Ennél az őshüllőnél találtak először tollszerű képződményt, tehát ez a madárrtoll evolúciójának kezdő lépése.
