The affected area of Kolontár

The houses located in the low lying flooded area of Kolontár were demolished and the upper layer of the surface soil was removed. Unfortunately not even the new houses or the ones in good condition could be saved from demolishon due to the destroyed walls, elctrical cables and tiles in them. The red mud mixed with soil removed from the soil surface is delivered to the temporary storage area besides the western wall of the red mud pond. There are only two houses standing in the flooded area, the owner of which could not decide on the fate of the asset.

A new residential area is being constructed for the affected families in a safer area of the village. Till the residential area is complete they live in rented properties.
